You may have some inexpensive things around the house that are helpful non-toxic solutions for your health and home, some of which I’ve listed below! Check out the latest WFMZ segment I participated in with Eve Russo, where I spoke about “Healthy Uses For Household Items.

Epsom Salts: Especially if you like to take baths, Epsom salts baths are for you.

  • Alleviate muscle pain after workouts

  • Relieves soreness

  • De-stressing and relaxing and promotes better sleep

  • Promotes cleansing of your liver, best to do just before bedtime

  • Calming for the kids before bedtime, just add soap just before finished

  • Laxative properties – topical is best

  • Take foot baths too

 White Vinegar: So many uses!

  • Skip the fabric softeners in washer, add one cup vinegar instead

  • Add one cup to dishwasher to eliminate harmful bacteria

  • Clean your shower heads

.Put boiling water in a bowl with a 1/2 cup of vinegar

  • For a clogged drain, dump boiling vinegar down the sink

Cinnamon: Much more than flavored toast! Most have no idea of the versatile uses of cinnamon.

  • Supports blood sugar levels – toss in food/smoothies/desserts

  • Gets rid of ants – sprinkle on window sills or where they may enter, or on sidewalk

  • Room deodorizer - boil sticks in hot water, or bake in oven with door open

  • Bad breath remedy  - use a drop of cinnamon oil with 2 oz water in spray bottle

Eggshells: Instead of throwing away, these are very valuable- especially if you are spending the extra money on organic eggs. Eggshells have a high calcium content, which can be beneficial for our overall health, joints, bones, teeth and immune system.

  • Boil one cup water and 3 eggshells with 2 tsp of lemon juice. Drink like a tea! Drink on a regular basis, and especially if not feeling well.

  • If you have automatic drip coffee pot, toss shells in there for extra calcium.

  • To clean your house - bake eggshells at 200 for 15 minutes thengrind eggshells in coffee grinder make a nontoxic abrasive for those tough-to-clean pots and pans. Mix them with a little soapy water for a powerful clean. Better for you than instead of abrasive and toxic cleaners.

  • Add some ground eggshells with coconut oil for an exfoliating face/foot scrub.
