Prepare Your Kitchen For A Healthy 2020
One common New Year’s resolution is to eat healthy. It’s a good one, but a struggle for some. In our office, when we encourage others to eat healthy, it is critical for them to have good options available, not leftover Christmas cookies sitting around the house! Send the cookies to the office and do a kitchen mini-makeover.
What can we do to give our kitchen a healthy makeover for 2020? Watch my first WFMZ segment of the new year to find out: Kitchen Makeovers to Help You Achieve Your 2020 Goals.
You need water! Plan to drink water throughout the day. Ideal is ½ your weight in ounces and not at mealtime. (Drinking at mealtime interferes with your digestive juices) Filtered water is a good option. Get a new filter. Also, make sure you have a water bottle available at all times – stainless steel or glass. Better to avoid plastic water bottles if possible.
Get your veggies ready! Get carrots, celery, peppers, and wash and chop to make them ready to grab at any time.
Your freezer needs healthy options too – salmon and chicken fillets ready to grab and cook, frozen cauliflower rice, frozen berries for smoothies are a good idea.
Get some packaged healthy snack options! Kale chips, Terra chips, pumpkin seeds, dried chick peas, and sunflower seeds, hummus and guacamole snacks.
Preparing the kitchen gives you easy go-to’s for all of your healthy food needs! Plus, your healthy kitchen mini-makeover will help your 2020 healthy eating be a success.
