Stock Up On Better-For-You Cleaning Essentials

So your cleaning lady is unavailable and you don’t know what to do?  Well, I am so thankful that I have my kids home from school/college to help with housework. (AND BECAUSE I LOVE SPENDING TIME WITH THEM TOO!) :)

The good news is that I started early in training my children on how to clean.  My daughter may someday regret this statement, but as a freshman in college, she told me how thankful she was that I had her doing dishes and cleaning at an early age so that she was able to take good care of her dorm room, and apparently her roommate’s mess too.

When the kids were little, I was a busy mom and needed help with the housework.  I wanted them to take responsibility for the mess they made on a regular basis.  When introducing this concept to my children, I did NOT want to use Tilex, Clorox or any other toxic cleaners, so I started using Melaluca products.  Among many other products, Melaluca has an all-purpose cleaner as well as a disinfectant, so I gave the kids one of each bottle and they went to town on the bathroom. Melaluca also has non-toxic dish soap so I was thankful to also give up my daily dishes routine. (Not sure if they even know this, but I would sometime have to rewash or clean the mess they left behind.) They did laundry on their own with Mela-power and have brought their own supplies to college too. If you want to learn more about Melaluca products feel free to give the office a call at 215-450-9963.

And more recently, I found Norwex!  And though I sill love and use Melaluca, there is a benefit to Norwex that I truly appreciate. When my kids learned the art of cleaning, they often did it with some waste of the Melaluca products, spraying everything and anything to make things clean, plus they used a half a roll of paper towels in the process! Now with the Norwex cleaning cloths, I can get the benefit of good cleaning, and not have to endure the wasted products. The cloths have the ability to remove up to 99% of bacteria from a surface just with the use of water and a cloth. They are made from microfiber and are embedded with silver and self purify themselves with just water alone, and should be washed at least once a week.  Norwex has a whole selection of products to have a clean home including all-purpose cloths, dusting mitts, window cleaners and more! The cloths are safe to use with diluted essential oils too. If you want to learn more about Norwex, my consultant is Becky Vasso. You can text her 267.384.4114 or email her at bvheartscleaning@gmail.com.

I also use doTerra essential oils for an effective cleaning. My favorites are Lemon, OnGuard, and Purify.  Lemon helps with a fresh scent in any room. OnGuard is a disinfectant for bathroom, kitchen, handwashing and more. I encourage my kids to use Purify in the washer when they are washing stinky socks or soccer and baseball uniforms. We have plenty of these in the office, so give our office a call to learn more about doTERRA!

So, if your store has run out of paper towels, sanitizing wipes, bleach, Tilex and other cleaning products, no need to worry. You have good options for keeping your home clean and sanitized without toxic ingredients and unnecessary waste!
