Healthy Kitchen Swaps
Many New Year’s Resolutions have come and gone. If you haven’t been so faithful to your healthy 2023 resolution, we can help. Let’s make a few long-term swaps in our kitchen that will make a big difference in your overall health. Watch Luisa share her latest tips with WFMZ’s Eve Russo below.
1. Instead of Peanut Butter, Eat SunButter. Peanuts often contain a type of mold called aflatoxin which can be considered a human carcinogen. SunButter is an easy substitute.
2. Toss the fruit juice and fruity snacks, eat real fruit. It comes with the sweetness but also the fiber to digest properly.
3. Instead of white bread, use Ezekiel bread. It is also called sprouted bread. Sprouted grain breads are considered a protein, not a grain. Yes, it still works for sandwiches, toast, etc, yet much healthier for you.
4. All eggs should be organic. Depending on the quality of the eggs, they may contain pesticides, hormones, GMO’s. Spend the extra money to get organic pasture raised eggs.
5. Salad spinner: Wash off the pesticides with apple cider vinegar for all fruits and veggies. This makes all your fresh ingredients cleaner and healthier to consume.
If you cannot commit 5 options, then commit to 3, or even one. These are easy long-term solutions to help overall health. Why not make these simple changes?
